Show HN: Hurston-1 open source TTS that speak Southern American and Afro-English

Hugging Face · 58 pts · 25 comments

Hey HN, I’m open sourcing my Hurston-1 narrowband TTS model (Apache-2.0). It is very good with American English and does especially well with Southern American and Regional African English accents. Destined AI is based in Atlanta, and I built this because I’m amazed by what AI can do, and I wanted to help introduce and welcome more people to feel comfortable using and interacting with AI. Since 2021, I’ve been collecting fully consented voice data from over 20,000 people, 1M audio recordings, and over 1,800 hrs of audio captured to date. For this model, I used a small part of the data, 136 hrs, to finetune Maya1 and expand it’s capabilities.…

Show HN: Freehire, open-source search 3M+ tech jobs from company career boards

Show HN · 15 pts · 1 comments

freehire is a filterable, job board aggregator, job tracker, and AI-assisted resume tailoring tool. Saving your skills and preferences changes which jobs appear and how your resume gets tailored. I’ve looked at a lot of these solutions over the years and found it really hard to find the right mix of tools in an open-source offering. I’ve contributed to a few issues now and worked closely with the maintainer. I’ve watched this evolve over the last few months. I feel it’s ready for everyone to check out and stress test. PaperFormalizer: Author-in-the-Loop Autoformalization of Research Papers in Lean

arXiv cs.AI

arXiv:2610.31810v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Even a carefully proofread paper can leave small gaps in its proofs or its stated assumptions. We introduce PaperFormalizer, a Lean-based agentic pipeline that helps authors find and close such gaps in their own papers and turn each paper into a Lean-verified version. Starting from the LaTeX source, PaperFormalizer transcribes the paper into a dependency graph of statements, audits each statement in natural language for faithfulness, ambiguity and correctness, and then formalizes and proves the statements in Lean against Mathlib, optional domain libraries and the author’s personal toolkit. Only…

Permission to Retry: A Study of Authorization and Recovery in AI Agent Workflows

arXiv cs.AI

arXiv:2610.31916v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: A durable agent can resume a consequential action while its authority changes and the action’s external outcome remains uncertain. We study execution-time reliability of tool-using AI agents, isolating recovery decisions from language-model behavior. Checkpoint state, permission to dispatch, evidence of an external effect and permission to reconcile are distinct obligations. We present a finite conformance study that checks these obligations through histories scored against a provider effect ledger hidden from the recovering application. A prospectively frozen campaign executes 336 histories on…
