Blog editorial design

The approved Slash Stack reading desk is the visual baseline for the blog.

Shared system

  • Genre: editorial. Warm paper, dark ink, restrained brown accent.
  • Existing Sass tokens in assets/css/style.scss are the source of colors and fonts. Shared page styles consume the named –editorial-* variables; no new fonts or remote assets are required.
  • Typography: existing system sans, roman headings, strong weight and restrained tracking. Mono remains reserved for technical content.
  • Spacing: generous between sections, compact within metadata and forms.
  • Motion: existing short transitions, reduced-motion rules remain in place.
  • Navigation: existing bilingual routes and translation keys; active page underlined. Mobile menu retains its accessible toggle.
  • CTA voice: concise verbs, one primary action, quiet links for other paths.

Page families

  • Home: identity and reading index, followed by selected essay, recent writing, reading paths, the real daily brief, Discover and public work.
  • Archives/topics/series: large title, short context, topic links, readable lists.
  • Articles/briefs: long document, narrow reading column, prominent title, natural localized dates, contents, related reading and contextual subscription.
  • Discover: source browsing with its existing tabs, search, ranking and filters.
  • Slash Stack: approved reading desk and compact sidebar signup; preserve its responsive composition.

Preserve facts, article content, ranking, payment behavior, attribution and EN/ES parity. No invented testimonials, metrics, sponsor claims or commercial offers.
