Build long-horizon agents with Grok 4.7 on Amazon Bedrock

AWS Machine Learning

Grok 4.7 is now available on Amazon Bedrock. In this post, we build a tool-calling agent on Grok 4.7 and evaluate it on three reasoning tasks at four reasoning effort levels, measuring correctness and token cost per completed task. We show how to tune the trade-off per request and monitor it in production.

Show HN: Pulse Local, a Mac budgeting app whose AI models run on your machine

Hacker News · 101 pts · 55 comments

Hi HN, I’m Niz. Pulse Local is a budgeting app for Mac (Apple Silicon, beta) that answers questions about your spending with models that run on your machine. Local mode needs no account. The ledger and your questions stay on the machine, and the app sends no analytics or crash logs. I felt there are not enough consumer apps that run locally with no calls to the outside world that help us manage sensitive corners of our lives. This app in its local variant only downloads a couple of models and occasional updates, it does not send any analytics nor data. Features-wise, Pulse local is a complete budgeting app that offers an assistant built on…

Show HN: Parsimony – an open-source benchmark for how much code AI models add

Hacker News · 66 pts · 12 comments

Existing benchmarks measure solve rate and token output/cost, but don’t punish excess code, which makes a codebase harder to work with in the long term. I wanted to measure this since it matters most for long-term projects. Method: it takes the patches that benchmarks already publish (DeepSWE, SWE-bench Verified, SWE-bench Live) and counts “coding units”: syntax elements like statements, calls, names and literals. I didn’t use lines of code, so cramming code isn’t rewarded. Deleted code is subtracted, so it measures net units. GPT-6 and Claude 5.5 have no public patches yet, so I ran them myself on 3–10 tasks on my own subscriptions (shown as…

Show HN: Wonderhop – A daily game: guess what most people say, or what none do

Show HN · 6 pts · 5 comments

Hello HN! Wonderhop is a small browser game with no account needed to play, everyday there are 4 rounds of 7 quesitons like “Name a food that a lot of people hate” The goal depends on the mode: Either gives the answer most people would give, the one no one would give, the oldest answer or the most recent one and there’s a leaderboard for the day. The most interesting part of the project was understanding answers that are typed freely and in 10 languages, there was some typos, plurals, nickname, or even duplicate way of sayign the same thing. We needed AI judge that checks it really existes conencted to some API like wikipedia to judge the…
